In 2014 my husband and I left our secure, well paying jobs. Romanticised by the idea of freedom and a need to get off the merry-go-round called a mortgage, children and 3 bags full, we bought a little food truck.
I wish I could tell you the dismount off our merry-go-round was graceful and easy but no… besides then I wouldn’t have a story to tell and we wouldn’t have made the paper!
Looking back on it now it was the best thing we could have ever done for too many reasons to mention here and now.
A journey that rekindled us back to our roots and reintroduced us to our heritage through food. As is with many cultures food is celebrated around fire, in our case the sacred ‘parrilla’. A criss-cross of metal rods perfectly arranged to showcase the butterflied chorizos as their fat serves to feed the flames from the glowing embers below. Now if that doesn’t make you salivate you must be a vegetarian!
Fast forward 5 years and here we are honouring our gaucho ancestors 13 thousand kilometres away by introducing Australia to South American food and hospitality.
Bienvenidos (Welcome)
